Why You Should Attend....

Fiduciary In All Things (FIAT) is a movement, based on the thought leadership of life planning pioneer George Kinder. In a civilization that seems to be flailing, he argues that a very simple tweak to our social contract between humanity and its institutions would right the ship. His thinking is based on an analysis of how in our current structure, it is inevitable that the negative externalities of organizations scaling globally, will also scale globally. So we find climate change, disinformation, autocracy, inequality and the misuse of AI scaling faster than our ability to respond, each threatening in their own way to undermine humanity.

His solution, called “Fiduciary In All Things” or FIAT, would require Institutions to be trustworthy and humane in all they do.  It is framed as a single sentence ‘legislative proposal’:

“A Fiduciary standard of obligation is required for all institutions (corporate, non-profit and governmental) to place the interests of all stakeholders, of truth, of humanity, democracy and the living planet that sustains us, first above their own self-interest.”

As humanity comes together globally for the first time in its history, it is time to reset the structures of capital—to make the principles of trust and freedom foundational and universal. A trustworthy world, more organic than regulatory, and flourishing with freedom is the vision of FIAT.

Drawing on Kinder’s three decade thought leadership in financial advice, his UK-based startup, The Moules, creates organizational environments enhanced by empathic listening and emotional intelligence, where the team members and their personal aspirations become business assets empowering a culture of purpose and integrating naturally with the greater mission of the organization.

The Three Domains Workshop (3DW) brings Mindfulness and Life Planning into an enterprise’s Fiduciary In All Things (FIAT) framework. Unlike the structured guidelines of B Corporations (though easily integrated therein) FIAT is in an organic, emerging phase where each person, family, and organization seeks to embody what it means to lead as a fiduciary. It’s an experiential process that works from the inside out and invites each employee to engage in the model, to discover their own personal FIAT, and to co-create meaning within energized organizations, enhancing productivity, alignment and profitability.

About the speaker:

George Kinder is the author of twelve books, each with a focus on freedom. They culminate in his latest book, The Three Domains of Freedom, and in the workshop that is the core offering of the UK-based fiduciary development company, The Moules. He is an international thought leader, entrepreneur, trainer, and designer of relationship- and leadership-based trainings.

Known in the financial industry as the Father of Life Planning, Harvard-graduate Kinder has been at the forefront of the financial services industry for decades, spearheading a movement that centers the lives that clients long to live within their financial plan. Through his books, workshops, and keynote speeches, Kinder has introduced tens of thousands of professionals globally to the field of financial life planning. He founded the Kinder Institute of Life Planning in 2003 after 30 years as a practicing financial planner and tax advisor.

His three books on money, The Seven Stages of Money Maturity, Lighting the Torch, and Life Planning for You, are considered by many to be the seminal works in the burgeoning field of financial life planning. Almost twenty years after its publication, his classic The Seven Stages of Money Maturity was again featured by the Wall Street Journal.

A mindfulness teacher for 35 years, Kinder leads weekly meditation classes and retreats around the world. Kinder’s illuminated manuscripts feature his poetry and photography and inspire us to live in the present moment with nature as our guide. The five-book series, Reflections of Spectacle Pond, is available as a free email subscription through Substack.

His recent books focus on civilization, starting with A Golden Civilization & The Map of Mindfulness. Understanding civilization as both human evolution and as the evolution of environments of freedom, his passion is to help create a civilization that organically fosters the very best of humanity as it diminishes the very worst.

In his latest book, The Three Domains of Freedom, he inspires readers to experience three profound freedoms: the freedom of each moment, the freedom to pursue one’s life purpose, and the freedom of civilization. He advocates a sustainable approach for institutions to prioritize humanity, democracy, the Earth, and the truth above their own self-interest, a concept he terms Fiduciary In All Things (FIAT). Through his work with The Moules, Kinder is bringing FIAT directly into businesses through transformative workshops and consulting.

Kinder’s profound insights across disciplines and innovative approaches continue to shape the financial services industry and, more broadly, inspire individuals to lead more fulfilling lives aligned with their deepest values and aspirations.
