What is a Social Enterprise?
Social enterprises are organisations that are looking to change the world for the better.
They must have a defined social purpose, which is the organisation’s formal, primary objective.
Being a social enterprise suits Transparency Task Force very well, because we are a mission-led organisation with a true passion for our purpose, which is to drive positive, progressive and purposeful reform of the financial sector, in the public interest.
Who are Social Enterprise UK?
Having researched various accreditation and certification bodies through which we could seek to evolve into becoming a social enterprise, we decided to apply to Social Enterprise UK, having formed the view that they are the most credible certification body, with authentically high standards.
Also, whilst they are UK-centric they do have international connections, which suits our international profile very well. It is the world’s largest social enterprise network.

Our Objects Clause
Please click on the icon below to download a Word document that shows the Objects Clause of our new Articles of Association. The Objects Clause is a provision in an organisation’s constitution stating its purpose and range of activities. It defines what we can and cannot do; and it shows that we truly are a mission-led, purposeful organisation that is committed to ‘making the world a better place’.
As you will see, the ‘Primary Object’ of Transparency Task Force is formally defined in our Objects Clause (which are a key component of our Articles of Association) is:
Primary Object.
The company’s primary social object is to carry out such business operations and related activities that the directors consider to be aligned with its Mission, Vision and Objectives, as outlined here:
a. The Mission is to promote ongoing reform of the financial sector, so that it serves
society better
b. The Vision is to build a large, influential and highly respected international institution that helps to ensure consumers are treated fairly by the financial sector. The primary beneficiaries of the organisation’s work will be consumers; but the sector itself will also benefit through improved market conduct and increased trust in the services it provides.
c. The Objective is to carry out a broad range of activities that help to drive positive, progressive and purposeful finance reform, such as:
i. Building a collaborative, campaigning community; the larger it is the more influence it can have in driving the change that is needed
ii. Raising awareness of issues; so that society better understands the problems that exist in the financial sector and how they can be dealt with
iii. Engaging with people who can make change happen; because through such dialogue we can influence thinking, policy making and market conduct
