Join us for an important online event featuring British whistleblower Simon Andriesz, whose case was the subject of the BBC File on 4 investigation broadcast on 14 July 2026, Epstein Files: Lutnick, the Royals and the British Whistleblower. Speaking publicly for the first time, Mr Andriesz will explain why he believes the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) failed to protect him from employer retaliation after he reported alleged malpractice at his former employer to the FBI. After a 32-year career in the securities industry, Mr Andriesz says the retaliation he experienced cost him his career, his financial security and his health, despite later receiving a financial award from a US regulator in recognition of the value of his disclosures. He will describe the evidence he provided to the FCA and why he believes the regulator failed to fulfil its statutory duty to protect him. The event will examine whether Mr Andriesz’s experience reflects a wider pattern, drawing on the experiences of other whistleblowers including George Patellis, Ahmet Latif, Paul Carlier and Steve Middleton. It will also explore the contrast between the UK’s whistleblower protection framework and the United States, where statutory programmes actively protect and reward those who expose wrongdoing in the public interest. Join us to hear Mr Andriesz’s story firsthand and explore what lessons the FCA, Parliament and policymakers should learn to ensure whistleblowers are properly protected rather than punished. |
