Why You Should Attend...

This event was quickly organised during a recent meeting of the Woodford Campaign Group. The meeting is all about how to respond to an important recent development

The recent development is that on 7 September Link issued a letter which it states ‘may affect your legal rights in your investments.’ It relates to Court proceedings listed for 10 October which it hopes will pave the way for a vote on a Scheme of Arrangement which, if accepted, would result in investors receiving what we believe is a very disappointing amount of compensation.

We understand there are many investors who did not receive the correspondence. And based on the conversation that took place yesterday in our Woodford Campaign Group meeting, those who did receive it have many questions about it. Transparency Task Force’s Woodford Campaign Group has been collating such questions since our meeting yesterday and we shall be liaising with the Link-appointed Investor Advocate, seeking answers to those questions.

At the meeting that we have hastily arranged for Thursday, 21st September, we’ll be discussing any answers we have received by then and their significance; and we’ll be discussing what further questions need to be asked and answered ahead of the Court hearing set for 10th October.

We’ll also be collectively strategizing about how best to ensure that investors’ interests are fairly represented in respect of the proposals; that’s particularly important for those that are concerned that the communications that have been coming out are:

  • Less-than-complete
  • Arguably misleading
  • Infer the payouts will be higher and fairer than they actually will be.

And given the public interest in this issue, the event will be free to attend for all.
