If we have agreed that you are to have a speaking slot at one of our events, this page covers what you need to know.
These notes relate to our online symposia only.
For any queries relating to this page or about speaking at one of our in-person events please contact us.
Tickets, pricing
Please note that we operate as a not-for profit and desperately need to boost our revenues. We need to generate revenue
everywhere we can, including from people speaking at our events.
However, we do not require speakers pay for a ticket; instead we ask them to make a reasonable donation to the TTF and we leave it entirely to the individual to decide what “reasonable” means to them as that will vary significantly from one person to another. The donation amount can be more or less than the Standard Ticket Price to attend one of our events (£245 + VAT) but note that VAT does not apply to donations.
If you wish to make a donation, please do so though our donations page here
If for any reason you do not want to make any donation at all, please let us know.
For the avoidance of doubt, being a speaker is not conditional on you making a donation i.e. making a donation is not compulsory.
Logo sponsorship options
All participants at our events, including speakers, can be Logo Sponsors. If you would like to know your options, please contact us.
Timings
Unless special arrangements have been agreed, your speaking slot would be for 10 minutes of presentation + 5 minutes of Q&A and facilitated discussion. 10 minutes ought to be long enough for you to get your key message across; it is important that we run to time and allow sufficient time for audience response, participation and engagement, so please be sure to not exceed 10 minutes.
We suggest you please approach your presentation as if you were delivering a TED Talk, i.e. strip out anything superfluous, focus on your key message and make your main points as impactfully as you can. As an aide to creating focus, perhaps consider what you want your audience to think, feel or do differently as a consequence of your talk.
Please let us know straight away if there are any times you will not be able to present so we can create the programme and the running order of the speakers accordingly.
The items we will need from you ASAP
It is important that we have the following items from you ASAP.
- A high-resolution head and shoulders image of you. If not provided we’ll use what we can find online e.g. on your LinkedIn profile picture
- Your bio, maximum 200 words
- Your Twitter handle if you have one, so that we can raise awareness of your involvement with the event through social media
- Slides are optional, so do not feel compelled to use them. If you do, please provide them ASAP and at least 2 hours before the event starts. They need to be provided in PowerPoint format (not PDF) in the Aspect Ratio of 4:3. Let us know if that is going to be a problem for you ASAP. You are very welcome to incorporate animation into your slides if you wish.
If you have any questions
Of course we will be delighted to deal with any queries that you may have, so ask away – please contact us.
Thank you for wanting to participate at one of our events.
