Why You Should Attend...

Strategic Lawsuits Against Public Participation (SLAPPS) are an approach used to stop people speaking out. As a consequence they are the enemy of truth and transparency.

The Solicitors Regulatory Authority have released a statement about SLAPPs, see here.

This event will give members a detailed understanding of this important issue, and in particular we will be shining a big bright light on what can be done to defeat SLAPPS.

The people who are fighting against SLAPPs are in keeping with the sentiment of the quote below by Robert F. Kennedy:

“Every time we turn our head the other way when we see the law flouted; when we tolerate what we know to be wrong; when we close our eyes and ears to the corrupt because we are too busy, or too frightened; when we fail to speak up and speak out – we strike a blow against freedom and decency and justice.”

If freedom of speech and the right to openly campaign matters to you, don’t miss this event.
